Areas we serve, from Fish Hoek to Camps Bay
Solar & Window Clean in Fish Hoek is a mobile service run by its owner, Cobus Bester, who always comes to you. Each group of suburbs below has at least one sourced local fact, such as salt in the air or minerals in tap water.

Which areas do you cover, and what can you book in each?
You can book solar panel, solar geyser and window cleaning in all eight suburbs we cover, for homes, body corporates, shopfronts and offices.
| Suburb | Part of Cape Town | Solar panels | Solar geysers | Windows and glass |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fish Hoek | South Peninsula, False Bay (our base) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Noordhoek | South Peninsula, Atlantic side | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Kommetjie | South Peninsula, Atlantic side | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Simon's Town | South Peninsula, False Bay | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Hout Bay | Atlantic Seaboard | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Camps Bay | Atlantic Seaboard | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Constantia | Southern Suburbs | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Claremont | Southern Suburbs | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Do you clean solar panels and windows in the Far South?
Yes. We're based in the Far South, also called the South Peninsula, and cover four suburbs there: Fish Hoek, Noordhoek, Kommetjie and Simon's Town. You can book all three services in each.
Solar panel, solar geyser and window cleaning in Fish Hoek
Cobus is based in Fish Hoek, on the False Bay side of the Peninsula (Wikipedia), so every trip starts here. We clean solar panels, solar geysers and windows on Fish Hoek homes, shopfronts and offices.
Solar panel, solar geyser and window cleaning in Noordhoek
Noordhoek is on the Peninsula's west coast, the Atlantic side (Wikipedia). We found no published rainfall average for the South Peninsula, but the Peninsula follows Cape Town's winter-rain pattern.
Only about 16% of Cape Town's rain falls from November to March. That is the long-term average at the Cape Town airport station (South African Weather Service, via the WMO). So dust can build up on solar panels in Noordhoek over the dry summer, when the sun is strongest.
The same dry months matter for solar geyser cleaning: a collector on a Noordhoek roof gets its fewest rinses in summer too.
Solar panel, solar geyser and window cleaning in Kommetjie
Kommetjie sits beside the Atlantic on the southern Peninsula (Wikipedia).
Sea salt isn't only a summer problem. In the University of Cape Town salt study, May was the worst month at several sites, when north-westerly winter winds were dominant. So salt reaches the coast in winter as well as summer. The study didn't measure how much salt stays on glass.
Steep panels that get a good winter rinse may not need us yet (Canadian Solar). Send Cobus a photo and he'll tell you, or read when solar panel cleaning is worth it.
Solar panel, solar geyser and window cleaning in Simon's Town
Simon's Town is on Simon's Bay, in False Bay (Wikipedia).
Cape Town tap water is soft, but those minerals still dry as spots on glass. Purified water has almost no dissolved minerals, so it dries without spots, says cleaning-equipment maker Unger. That is why we use pure-water window cleaning on homes, shopfronts and offices in Simon's Town and every other area we cover.
Do you work in Hout Bay and Camps Bay?
Yes. We travel from Fish Hoek to Hout Bay and Camps Bay, on the Atlantic Seaboard, for all three services.
Solar panel, solar geyser and window cleaning in Hout Bay
Hout Bay is one of the two Atlantic Seaboard suburbs we cover. We offer window cleaning in Hout Bay for homes, shopfronts and offices, and we clean solar panels and solar geysers here too. On a sea-facing house, a photo of the glass helps Cobus judge the salt film before he quotes.
Solar panel, solar geyser and window cleaning in Camps Bay
Camps Bay is on the Peninsula's west coast (Wikipedia). It is one of our furthest areas from Fish Hoek, and that distance is built into your all-in quote.
Panel maker Trina tells owners in marine areas with high-salinity fog to shorten maintenance intervals. That is Trina's guidance for its own modules, with no fixed interval. For solar panel cleaning near the sea, our advice is simple. Check your panels, or your inverter app, every six months, and clean when you see build-up.
Do you cover Constantia and Claremont in the Southern Suburbs?
Yes. Constantia and Claremont are the two Southern Suburbs we cover, for solar panels, solar geysers, and windows and glass.
Solar panel, solar geyser and window cleaning in Constantia
By our own calculation from NOAA's historical records, Constantia is much wetter than the Cape Town airport, with the same dry summer. A station at Groot Constantia averaged about 975 mm of rain a year from 1900 to 1989, counting complete months only. About 76% fell from April to September, and about 17% from November to March. The airport station's long-term average is 515 mm a year (South African Weather Service, via the WMO).
So even in this wetter valley, dust can build up on glass over the dry summer. We offer window cleaning in Constantia for homes, shopfronts and offices, plus solar panels and solar geysers.
Solar panel, solar geyser and window cleaning in Claremont
Claremont's tap water comes from soft supplies. That is based on the City's 2018/19 list of which supply serves which suburb, and the network is interconnected. Across the supplies serving our area, hardness was 22–46 mg/L in 2024/25 and April to June 2026. That is from the City of Cape Town's annual and quarterly tap-water reports. Water at 60 mg/L or less counts as soft (USGS).
Soft water still carries minerals that dry as spots, so we clean with purified water.
Like the rest of Cape Town, Claremont has a dry summer. About 78% of Cape Town's rain falls between April and September. That is the long-term average at the Cape Town airport station (South African Weather Service, via the WMO). We offer solar panel cleaning in the Southern Suburbs, plus solar geysers and windows.
How does travel from Fish Hoek affect your price?
Travel is always included in your quote, and distance from Fish Hoek is one of the things that set the price. Every quote is all-in: Cobus agrees the price with you on WhatsApp, from your photos or a short video, before any work starts. Nothing is added on the day.
For solar panels, the price also depends on the number of panels, single- or double-storey and access, and how dirty the panels are. Solar geyser and window cleaning are quoted per job. Bigger jobs and regular cleans can be discounted; just ask. Our price guide explains how travel distance affects the price, along with everything else that changes it.
